A costume done well will give us a great opportunity to be a different person for a day and when the costume is a famous person, people call you, not with your name, but with the name of the person it represents. In recent years has come from Japan a new trend: people created dresses with cartoon characters. This trend is called cosplay. The Cosplayer has an obsessive passion for comics and is able to reproduce faithfully all details of the person who wants to represent. The best cosplayer also become famous and now there are many competitions around the world to award the best. Even in Italy the fairs and festivals of this kind have multiplied and the level of costumes stood up in the dizzying world.

Indossare una maschera sul viso non è assolutamente sufficiente per essere perfetti a Carnevale: coprire il viso non serve a niente se tutto non è abbinato all'abito. L'abito è fondamentale e a Carnevale non vale il detto "l'abito non fa il monaco". La scelta dell'abito non va fatta con superficialità perché deve essere indossato con disinvoltura e deve rappresentare la nostra personalità. Un costume fatto bene ci darà la grande possibilità di essere, per un giorno, una persona diversa e quando il costume rappresenta un personaggio famoso la gente ti chiamerà, non con il tuo nome, ma con il nome di chi rappresenti. Negli ultimi anni è arrivata dal Giappone la moda di travestirsi con i personaggi dei fumetti o dei cartoni animati: questa moda si chiama Cosplay. Il Cosplayer ha una passione maniacale per i fumetti ed è in grado di riprodurre in modo fedele tutti i dettagli del personaggio che vuole rappresentare. I migliori cosplayer diventano anche famosi e sono ormai numerosi in giro per il mondo i concorsi per premiare i migliori. Anche in Italia le fiere e le feste di questo tipo si sono moltiplicate e il livello dei costumi si è alzato in mondo vertiginoso.
