The Sweetpea or Lathyrus odoratus is an annual herbaceous plant creeper, belonging to the pea family, native to southern Europe. It has climbing stems, erect, reaching 150-180 cm in height. Il Pisello odoroso o Lathyrus odoratus è una pianta erbacea annuale rampicante, appartenente alla famiglia dei piselli, originaria dell'Europa meridionale. Le foglie sono pinnate, composte da due foglioline, di colore verde chiaro; in primavera e in estate produce numerosi fiori a forma di farfalla, riuniti in grappoli, prevalentemente nelle tonalità del rosa, ma anche bianchi, rossi, viola e gialli; delicatamente profumati. I piselli odorosi preferiscono le posizioni soleggiate, ma crescono senza problemi anche all'ombra parziale; nei luoghi con estati molto calde si consiglia di porli a dimora in posizioni in cui la pianta sia al sole, ma il terreno in cui è interrata sia all'ombra nelle ore più calde del giorno.
