We all know, our society is the appearance, the look and the superficiality one. Do we want to go on to complain about this or not?
This doesn’t mean exceed the opposite side, indulging in an obsessive and painstaking care in choosing clothing, dissolving the bank account in setet and signatures depending on the trend of the new season, and even to control every 10 minutes to check that there are no creases on the dress. On cleaning there are arrangements that vary based on preferences - or obsessions - of everyone: take a shower every morning rather than every night, have it several times a day, wash your hair every day or twice a week. The conditions of life and work clearly influence the choices in this case: who lives in a village in the mountains of three thousand souls will be found at the end of the day with hair much cleaner than those who make the pony express in a big city, where smog smoke and pollute the hair quickly.

Galateo dell'immagine: la pulizia (prima parte)

Lo sappiamo tutti, la nostra è la società dell'apparenza. Del look, della superficialità. Vogliamo andare avanti a lamentarci per questo in una idealistica crociata contro la superficialità di un giudizio esteriore? Oppure vogliamo farci più umanamente i conti?
Questo ovviamente non significa eccedere dal lato opposto, abbandonandosi a una ossessiva e maniacale cura nello scegliere i capi di abbigliamento, dissolvendo il conto in banca in setet e firme a seconda della tendenza della nuova stagione, e nemmeno nell'ispezionarsi ogni 10 minuti per controllare che non ci siano pieghe sull'abito. Come sempre, ci verrebbe da invocare una via di mezzo laddove giace la virtù. Dunque l'immagine. Potremmo dividerla in tre principali categorie: la pulizia, l'abbigliamento e la forma.
Tendenzialmente parrebbe brutto parlarne in una rubrica di buone maniere. Eppure quando si prende l'autobus, nonostante tutte le numerose e istruttive pubblicità in merito, l'ascella del vicino è sempre più verde. Verrebbe da considerarlo un capitolo scontato per chi legge. Il compromesso che proponiamo è il seguente: i ragguagli in proposito sono per qualche lettore che non siete voi.
Sulla pulizia ci sono modalità che variano sulla base delle preferenze – o delle fissazioni – di ognuno: farsi la doccia tutte le mattine piuttosto che tutte le sere, farsela più volte al giorno, lavarsi i capelli tutti i giorni oppure due volte alla settimana. Le condizioni di vita e di lavoro influenzano palesemente le scelte, in questo caso: chi abita in un paesello di montagna di tremila anime si ritroverà a fine giornata con i capelli decisamente più puliti di chi fa il pony express in una grande città, dove smog e fumo insozzano rapidamente le chiome.
