Frederick is a name of a person Italian male. From the Germanic Frithurik (Friedrich in modern German), composed of terms frithu (peace) and rikja (ruler, king, powerful): the overall translation, as often happens in Germanic names, is rather ambiguous and in need of a paraphrase, although a most convincing interpretations of the name translates as rich in peace or, more broadly, peaceful - exactly as in the Italian name Pacific, poor circulation to the present day. In Italy, however, the pronunciation Federico originated from the adaptation of the Latin name, or Fredericus, so much so that in ancient times was also used variant Frederico. The most modern Federico, however, probably reflects a combination of the term faith by incorrectly popular belief that the name meant rich in faith.
