The Narcissus
The Narcissus is a flower that is part of Amaryllidacee. Its name derives from the greek narkao and refers to the strong odor of some species of this flower. It is a very common bulb and can also be found in the wild grasslands, forest and still cool weather. Is often used to decorate the garden beds having regard to its particular shape with leaves launches around the vertical stem: the flower usually consists of 5 petals yellowish-white with a central crown of bright yellow. The flower is quite heavy and is often bend the stem, this is reminiscent of the myth of Narcissus, which was used in ancient Greece.
Narcissus is in fact a character from Greek mythology famous for its beauty. Narcissus is the son of the nymph Liriope and Cephissus god and is a very cruel people away from himself every person who loves him. This cruelty is punished by the gods and ends up falling in love with his own reflection in the water of a pond: Narcissus is left to die so when you realize that love is impossible.
Il Narciso
Il Narciso è un fiore che fa parte delle Amaryllidacee. Il suo nome deriva dal greco narkao e si riferisce al forte odore di alcune specie di questo fiore. È un bulbo molto comune e si può trovare anche selvatico in luoghi erbosi, boschivi e comunque con clima fresco. Viene usato spesso nel giardinaggio per decorare aiuole vista la sua particolare forma con foglie a lancia che circondano il fusto verticale: il fiore è formato solitamente da 5 petali bianco-giallastri con al centro una corona di colore giallo acceso. Il fiore è piuttosto pesante e fa spesso piegare il fusto, da questo si ricorda il mito di Narciso che arriva dall'antica Grecia.
Narciso è infatti un personaggio della mitologia greca famoso per la sua bellezza. Narciso è figlio della ninfa Liriope e del dio Cefiso ed è una persone molto crudele che allontana da sé ogni persona che lo ama. Per questa crudeltà viene punito dagli dei e finisce con l'innamorarsi della propria immagine riflessa nell'acqua di uno stagno: Narciso si lascia così morire quando si accorge che l'amore sarà impossibile.
